The drive up to the museum is breathtaking, and you can get there from your apartment easily via Hwy 94.

Dinosaur eggs, yes, fossilized Duckbill dinosaur eggs can be found in the Natural History wing, along with fossils from as far back as 450 million years ago. The newer items in this section are only 12,000 years old. Meteorites, quartz crystals and hundreds of spectacular sea shells and fossils display the evolutionary chain from sea creatures to vertebrates.

In the Archaeology wing, more than 10,000 samples of archaic projectile points and ceremonial points display early hunting and cultural gear, along with over 500 necklaces ranging in age from 500 BC to AD 1200. The countries of Peru and Mexico are represented well here with pottery, pipes and prehistoric beads.

The items in the Anthropology wing bring together the similarities of the cultures of Mexico, Peru and the islands with Indian clothing, feathered headdresses, trade beads and early guns.

Incredible early art is to be found in the Art wing, with paintings, sculpture and even a 15 foot long Chinese scroll. Also to be noted is the wide array of jade pieces. In the center of the wing is a "jade burial suit," thought by the Chinese to guarantee immortality if worn after death.
